Artifacts: The Road to Manzanar

Artifacts: Road to Manzanar, was a powerful collaboration between artist, writer, and designer. Jon Yamashiro created haunting images of Japanese incarceration camps of the west; Brian Roley wrote the accompanying narrative about a family uncovering their history; and I took their work and strengthened the connections and communication through typography, placement, pacing, juxtaposition, and proportion. The resulting final book is a statement about how interdisciplinary collaboration can result in a powerful and impactful work.
